1. Who We Are

Sprigie is an AI-powered personal relationship manager. It helps you remember important moments, follow-up commitments, and life context for the people you care about — so you can nurture those relationships more naturally.

For the purposes of this policy, "Sprigie", "we", "us", and "our" refers to the team operating the Sprigie service. You can contact us at: privacy@sprigie.com

2. What Data We Collect

2.1 Data you provide directly

  • Your name and email address
  • Conversation inputs you type into Sprigie — descriptions of interactions, people, events, and commitments
  • Any edits or corrections you make to AI-extracted information before it is saved

2.2 Data we derive from your inputs

When you log a conversation, our AI pipeline extracts structured information. This extraction happens in real time. You review and confirm all extracted data before anything is saved. Nothing is written to the database without your explicit approval.

2.3 Data about people you mention

When you log a conversation, details are stored in your personal relationship database. This data is:

  • Visible only to you — never shared with other users, advertisers, or third parties
  • Never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than serving your personal use of Sprigie
  • Deletable at any time — you can remove a contact and all their history in a single action

Sprigie functions as a personal relationship journal. It is not a commercial data processing platform.

2.4 Technical and usage data

  • Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) — retained for 30 days
  • Authentication tokens managed by our sign-in provider (Clerk)
  • We do not use third-party behavioural analytics or advertising trackers

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide and improve the Sprigie service:

  • To extract, structure, and store your relationship notes
  • To generate reconnection nudges and weekly digest emails
  • To generate Reflection Insights from patterns in your interaction history
  • To send follow-up reminders you have configured
  • To enable semantic search across your relationship history
  • To authenticate you and maintain your session securely

We will never use your data for:

  • Advertising or marketing to you on behalf of third parties
  • Training AI models — including our own AI provider's models
  • Selling, renting, or sharing with data brokers or third parties
  • Building profiles for purposes beyond your personal use of Sprigie

4. AI Processing and Third-Party Providers

4.1 How AI processes your inputs

When you submit a conversation log, your text is sent to an AI language model (currently Anthropic's Claude API) for extraction. This means your input — which may contain personal details about yourself and others — is transmitted to Anthropic's servers for processing.

Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models. We have confirmed this with their published data processing terms.

5. Data Security

5.1 Current protections

  • All data is encrypted in transit via TLS
  • All data is encrypted at rest by our database provider
  • Authentication is handled entirely by Clerk — we do not store passwords
  • Database access is limited to the founding team only

5.2 Planned improvements

We are building toward field-level encryption for sensitive database columns — meaning that even with direct database access, relationship content would appear as ciphertext. We will communicate when this is in place.

5.3 Breach notification

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and relevant supervisory authorities within the timeframes required by applicable law.

6. Your Rights

To exercise any of the following rights, contact us at privacy@sprigie.com.

  • Right of access — Request a copy of all data Sprigie holds about you
  • Right to rectification — Correct inaccurate data at any time within the app
  • Right to erasure — Delete individual contacts or your entire account from Settings. Deletion is permanent and irreversible
  • Right to object — Opt out of the weekly digest and Reflection Insights from your settings at any time
  • Right to restrict processing — Contact us to request we restrict processing while a dispute is resolved

7. Data Retention

  • Your data is retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service
  • You can configure a data retention period for inactive contacts in Settings
  • On account deletion, all data is purged from our active database. Backups are rotated and purged within 30 days
  • Server logs are retained for 30 days

8. Children's Privacy

Sprigie is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

This policy was last updated in June 2026. Any future changes will be reflected in this document.
